Common name -Thai Basil

Scientific name -Ocimum basilicum

Thai basil is sturdy and compact, growing up to 45 cm (1 ft 6 in), and has shiny green, slightly serrated, narrow leaves with a sweet, anise-like scent and hints of licorice, along with a slight spiciness lacking in sweet basil. Thai basil has a purple stem, and like other plants in the mint family, the stem is square.

Plant care and instruction

Thai basil plants need at least six hours of direct sunlight to flourish. Water weekly but keep the water off the leaves; water from the base. Over-watering will cause the leaves to yellow and drop, and under-watering will make flowers and buds suffer, so it is important to attain a balance when watering Thai basil.

1.Light -full sun

2.Place-prefers soil that is slightly moist, slightly acidic, well-drained and rich in organic matter

3.Water - moist /moderate

4.Fertilizer -every four to six weeks for indoor plants and every 2-3 weeks for outdoor

5.repotting -small containers and fill them with a high quality potting mix

6.temperature -between 72-85°F.
